Shiki's Fantastic Photo Shoots: Hyper Booty Senran Ryōbi!

Do you guys remember that Booty Land funding thing that was happening for a while? Well, the amount needed wasn’t reached, but apparently Ryōbi (after some SERIOUS pouting/screaming/bullying) decided not to give up on her dream. Which I 100% support; you should, like, never give up on your dreams!

Anyway, she’s still pretty determined to have this place become a reality. There’d be rides and a café and shopping, which sounds like it would be so much fun! But then I got to thinking: “Hmm, Shiki, what would really draw people there?” And you know what I came up with?

Weddings.

Just picture it! Booty Land could be the new IT place for weddings! I mean, what a totally great place to have a reception! All the guests would have so much fun going on the rides! Way better than some stuffy old dinner. And with the Booty Land stage, you could go all out with the music! Think of all the space for dancing! And you know I’d TOTALLY be the photographer for everything! And then that could really open the park up for all sorts of other events.

What a great idea…! So I pitched it to Ryōbi. At first, she thought I was crazy. But the more I talked about it, the more she totally began to agree with me! Which was really surprising, considering all the hostility that seems to be going on right now. Maybe everyone needs to recite the Heart Sutra to calm down…

Sorry! Got totally sidetracked for a second there. Anyway!

Shiki Snaps: Drawing Time

Practice, practice, practice!

I’m always so impressed with Murky. Not only is she a totally fantastic artist, she’s always looking for ways to improve! I saw her sketching this morning while I was passing through on my way out and didn’t think anything of it. I mean, why would I? She’s always camped out somewhere with her art supplies and I wouldn’t want to disturb her or anything.

I spent a couple of hours shopping (had to decompress from all the studying I’ve been doing, after all!) and when I came back, she was still there drawing! Like, that’s a lot of time to spend drawing! And that’s when I noticed that she wasn’t in our school uniform or even in some typical casual clothes. She was wearing this adorable little cheer outfit! Definitely not something that she would usually wear.

So of course I immediately made a beeline for her and asked what she was doing.

“Practicing,” she answered, glancing up from her sketch.  On the page I saw that character that she’s always drawing and it was dressed exactly the way she was!

“Ooh, I get it!” I crowed. “It makes it easier to draw when you can see it in real-life! Like when you’ve had me model for you.” Murky gave a nod and went back to her sketch, which is the exact moment I struck.

“Speaking of modeling…”

She said no. Why do they always say no?! But I was able to get her to compromise with me; a single, candid shot. And this way, it might also help her with her future drawings of this outfit!

She keeps getting better!

Shiki's Fabulous Photo Shoots: Surprise Guest!

Sorry to have been totally M.I.A. recently! But there’s been some really weird stuff happening that’s been keeping me busy…

But! That’s a story for another time! Right now, I want to tell you about the CUTEST picture I snapped of Murasaki!

Bet you didn’t think I was going to say that name, huh? *winks*

Yeah, I know its super surprising, but it really is great. I was trying to think of another girl I could have model for Shiki’s Fantastic Photo Shoots, but everyone was turning me down. Like, how rude is that?! Shouldn’t they all be jumping at the chance to show off what they’ve got? Uggggh, whatever…

Well, I was getting pretty desperate, but then I saw Murasaki. Normally, I don’t see her out and about a lot, so that gave me the brilliant idea to ask her to model for me!

Which she, of course, turned down.

But I could totally tell she was a little bit interested! So I pleaded my case (I bet Kafuru would be so proud) and thanks to my powers of persuasion, I was able to convince her to model! She was still a little hesitant, but I said we could have the shoot in her room if it made her more comfortable and that we wouldn’t do anything TOO outrageous in the wardrobe department. She gave me a little sniff, and then she said I seemed honest (do I…smell “honest”? Must be my new perfume), so she agreed.

And things went great! I just had her act natural and got this perfect shot of her! I was actually really surprised with the outfit that she let me get away with putting on her, but I think it helped that it was cute, fuzzy, and purple! So, she totally got to match her bear! And she enjoyed herself so much, I think she’ll agree to do a second photoshoot! And this time, maybe she’ll agree to get REAL crazy with the outfit! 

She could make modeling her career!

Shiki's Fantastic Photo Shoots: Yu-and-mi

Shoot 2 down and it was even better than the last!

Yu-and-mi agreed to let me get some photos of her (I’m pretty sure she only said yes ‘cause I pulled the birthday card, but whatever!) and I’m totally excited with the way they turned out! She was really shy at first, just like Rizune, which I so don’t understand. Everyone is so timid, but they have no reason to be! They’re all gorgeous, talented, and powerful shinobi! Show it off!

After a few shots, I even convinced her to let me capture her elegant dance! I was completely enraptured, so of COURSE we got jumped by some grunts. But everything worked out great because I was able to get some really amazing pictures of her transformation. I really think she’s going to love those ones too, because they’re absolutely fabulous!

*siiigh* This idea was so totally great. Today’s Yozie’s birthday, so maybe she’ll want to do some glamor shots to celebrate!

Time to Party!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Birthdays are totally the best, aren't they?! A day to celebrate with friends and get pampered and relax! I can tell the girls are up to something; they're trying to be all secretive, but Murky is even more nervous than usual and Minnow soooo can't keep a secret! It's totally fine though, I won't be a downer and ruin their fun. Whatever they have planned is going to be so totally awesome!

Kat even left me a nice little message about buying me a bowl of ramen. But I'm so not meeting her. Remember what happened last time? Yeah, I've got better things to do on my birthday than kick her butt.

Speaking of better things, off to meet Erika for some shopping! I'll make sure to keep you updated on the surprise from my friends!

UPDATE 1: Minnow made me some tasty lemon cupcakes! And she said that she has one more surprise for me! Like, I wonder what it could be...

Shiki's Fantastic Photo Shoots: Rizune

The first photo shoot was a giant success!

Rizune was so nervous at first (and she gave me a weird look when I called her that, but I think it grew on her, just like I said it would!). It was actually sooooo cute! But she started to warm up after a while and really got into it!

We did a couple of different looks for her, which was totally cool because it let her show off a bunch of different sides of her personality! We started with her work clothes, since that’s what she’s comfortable in, and then we took a few shots in her Shinobi outfit. Then we did this sexy agent look that seemed to come right out of a movie!

After that, I suggested we do some in lingerie. She didn’t seem thrilled and looked like she was about to open her mouth and start lecturing me (guess she’ll always be a teacher…), when I pulled out the big guns. “I’m sure Master Kiriya would just LOVE to see these pictures!”

“W-What are you talking about?” she stuttered, her cheeks flushing. I grinned.

“You don’t have to pretend, your secret is TOTALLY safe with me! But after that date I saw, I bet these pictures would be a great surprise!”  

Shiki: 1, Rizune: 0. (…Okay, maybe she gets a half-point because these photos are like, definitely amazing!)

I can’t wait for the next one! I’m thinking I’ll ask Yu-and-mi if she’ll be my model this time. Since it’s my birthday tomorrow, maybe she’ll be more likely to say yes!

Isn’t it great?! I can put my awesome camera skills to use, have fun with my friends, AND bring in more viewers to my blog! Because like, who wouldn’t want to see pictures of gorgeous shinobi?

I think I’ll have Rizune go first! Kiriya would probably LOVE to get some photos of her. I can’t wait to get started! I’ll totally let you guys know how it goes! 

Shiki Tells a Story

Ugggh.

I was GOING to write a review about this totally delicious-looking ramen that I ordered the other day, but that’s being pushed aside for now because I just have to tell everyone about this.

So, like I mentioned, I was trying out this new ramen at one of my fav shops (new for me because I don’t normally get shoyu flavored, but that’s so not the point). Well, it turns out that it’s apparently also one of Katsuragi’s fav places, too.

I’m sure you can totally see where this is going. 

I had just ordered and was minding my own business texting some friends when all of a sudden Katsuragi plops down in the seat across from me! She’s got a huge smile on her face, which you KNOW means trouble, but I thought to myself, “Nothing too bad will happen, right?”

Wrong.

“I came here to reward myself with some ramen for studying this weekend,” Kat said, her smile getting even bigger as a glint shone in her eye. “But I think I’ve found a better reward than ramen!”

I’m sure you can guess that a fight like totally broke out. And of course I won, as if there was ever a doubt about that. But I didn’t even get to try the ramen I ordered!

Next time I’ll make sure I go in disguise. Kat’s groping hands won’t catch me! 

Shiki Spies: Sexy Shopping

Another big scoop!

You’ll never guess what I saw today! Something totally unexpected but so completely juicy I had to rush back to my room so that I could tell you all pronto!

There’s this store that I always walk by when I’m shopping, but I’ve never been there because I’m usually in a total hurry to get to a sale. The shop is super unique though because they sell all sorts of lingerie. From the quick glances I get when I fly by they have some really cute things, too. I’ll have to make time to go in and shop one day.  

But as I was passing by today to meet Erika for some coffee, I happened to see someone that we all know checking out the selection! Like, “Who was it, Shiki?” you may be asking. Well, it was none other than Miss Ikaruga of Hanzō Academy!

I couldn’t believe it! After I saw her I did what anyone else would have done; I sent Erika a text telling her that I was going to be late and slipped into the shop. I just had to know what she was going to buy!

 Well, she didn’t end up buying anything which is a bummer, but she DID try a couple of things on! If I’m like, being really honest here, I have to admit that I’m kinda proud of her. Breaking out from that prim and proper shell, huh, Iki? You go, girl!

And I bet next time she’ll totally get something!

Shiki Spies: Date Night

I just saw the absolute CUTEST thing! It was totally adorable and it also gives me a huge scoop! There’s like, nothing better than that!

So, I was walking around the shopping district, trying to decide if I wanted to check out another store (it had this killer outfit in the window that I know would look totally great on me) or if I should take a break and reward myself with some tomato juice when I saw them.

Rin and Kiriya! Out on a DATE!

I couldn’t believe it! I’ve heard how she’s been totally gone over that guy for like, FOREVER, but who knew that something would actually come of it?! Do you think he made the first move? Or did Suzune gather her courage and get him all on her own?

Oh, but she was almost too cute for words! She was acting all shy and flirty, touching her hair and looking coyly away from him. And she was blushing! Oh my god, I almost swooned right there, fer shuh!

And the best part was that he was totally enamored with her! Trust me, I’m an expert at these things! He was trying to act all cool (like boys do, but come on!), but he could hardly take his eyes off her of! And Rin… Suzune…? Rin…? You know, it makes me wonder what he’d actually call her. ‘Cause I don’t know what to call her… Maybe Rizune? That could like, totally catch on, right?

Definitely going to have to find out how the rest of that date went! Maybe they’ll get married! I heard there’s this new place opening up that does events…

Belly-Dancing Monster

I’m confused.

And I mean like, really confused. Totally confused. More confused than when I was learning French! But maybe that’s not a very good example because I picked up French like, totally quick…

Anyway.

I just saw something really weird. You know those new shinobi girls? Renka, Hanabi, and Kafuru? Well, they were having this conversation today and it looked like it was getting pretty serious. Then all of a sudden, the middle one, Hanabi, started making this funny noise! Like, a hissing?

It made her sisters totally freak out! I had no idea what was happening or why they were scrambling around like crazy, trying to get her to calm down. Which didn’t seem to be working AT ALL. So then…

So. Then.

Renka starts doing this silly dance! Now, I know that doesn’t seem all that weird since people dance all the time (wait until I tell you about this thing with a Samba party), but that isn’t the part that’s so bizarro. What’s really weird is that she had this face drawn on her stomach!

Hanabi totally cracked up, which stopped that funky hissing noise. But I’m still confused. Why did Renka have a face on her stomach? Does she walk around with it all the time? Is it a Secret Ninja Art? What’s going on there?

The mystery around these girls continues…

Shiki Style

Remember that blog I wrote about the Two-Headed Ninja I saw after seeing Deathpond (which I totally saw for the fifth time the other day and it is still SO worth the zeni!)? Remember how I mentioned that grunts will jump out of the bushes to randomly attack me? And how some of those grunts wear, like, feathers?

Well, that got me thinking…

WHO EVEN WEARS FEATHERS NOW?!

That’s such an outdated style. And they’re so annoying! Every time you shift to do ANYTHING they fall out all over the place. And then you have to spend time cleaning them up when you could totally be doing something fun instead. It really is a horrible fashion choice!

…Okay, so maybe I’m a little bit biased. But I mean, I tried to wear this totally cute jacket that had feathers on it when Erika and I were going to go out shopping one day. But then the feathers started falling out all over the place and Yozie made me clean them all up which made me soooo late and I ended up missing a flash sale at my favorite store! So yeah, I guess I’m against feathers because of that bad experience. Maybe I shouldn’t let it get me down about other people wearing feathers, though.

But those colors that the grunts chose for those feathers? UGH! That’s one thing I’m totally not going to let them get away with. 

Shiki Shops: PHOSERA Review

Sooo…

Remember that new shop that I was telling you about? The one I was like, really excited for?

 

Well, I tried two of the things that I bought from there and let me just say…

THEY. ARE. GREAT!

My favorite was definitely the nail polish. Yozie liked it, too! I convinced her to let me paint her nails and we were both totally surprised that it didn’t chip the next time she did some training. Extra points to the Sleek Shinobi brand for being fighting tough!

The lip gloss was awesome, too! Like I told everyone, I bought a new color to try something new and it totally worked out. It’s definitely a great color to wear when out on the town with friends! Eye-catching and vibrant, like me!

Hmm… I wonder what I’ll buy next time I’m there. Probably some lotion and eyeshadow. Maybe some hair-dye! How do you guys think I’d look with some black and pink streaks?! It would totally go with my Shinobi outfit…

The Two-Headed Ninja

Okay, so last night, I went to see Deathpond again for the third time. I ended up staying to see it a fourth time, because come on, Deathpond, but I forgot the bus stops running at 10, and I didn't want to splurge for a cab, so off I went on foot.

On the way back, I took a shortcut through this one big park. I know, right? Cute blonde teen walking by herself in the dark at night. Sounds like every horror movie ever. But there I was, when I heard a rustling in the bushes ahead of me.

I slowly, quietly pulled out my scythe. I figured it was just a bunch of grunts about to jump me again. That happens four or five times a week. Sometimes they wear feathers or bear suits. It's weird. But no; what came out of those bushes was something totally different.

I couldn't quite tell what it was in the dark. It had a big, broad cloak like a shroud, it had these crazy twirling horns, and I swear to all that's holy, it had TWO FREAKING HEADS.

Like, it had a regular head, and then off to the side it had this crazy different-looking head. One of the heads screamed when it saw me and ran off. With the other head, I mean. They both ran off. The body they were both attached to ran off. I don't know. I'm still shaking all over. I can barely even type.

I need a massage. And an iced grande latte with two of those little mint creamery things. Massage first.

Shiki Shops: PHOSERA

Guys, I’m so excited!

A new store opened up in the shopping area and you’ll never guess what they sell there. Well, go on! Guess! I’ll be back in a couple of days to let you know if you’re right.  

…Just kidding! I wouldn’t do that to you all!

Anyway! The shop that opened sells make-up! And all sorts of it! I was almost overwhelmed when I walked in there. I didn’t know where to look first; lipstick or lip gloss or eyeshadow or eyeliner or nail polish or—!!

In other words, there’s like, a lot. And not just make-up, but also lotions and stuff for your hair, too! I can’t wait to try everything out, but that’s totally going to take FOREVER!!

But for my first purchase, I bought a new lip gloss (in a color I’ve never tried before because it’s totally important to change things up every once in a while, you know?!) and a few different shades of nail polish. Maybe I can convince Yozie to let me paint her nails! But she’d probably just ruin all my hard work with her punching… 

I’ll make sure to let everyone know about the new things I got today!

Shiki Sees: "Deathpond"

OMG, have you guys seen Deathpond yet? He is, like, the naughtiest hottie from all your Shinobi Land dreams!


OK, so check it out. Deathpond is a superhero, right? But he's like a bad boy superhero, and he's got these two guns, and these two katanas, and underneath that mask, woo! Hotsville! I mean, until he gets all nasty and leathery and everything, but — ooh, spoilers! My bad!

And he's played by the hot guy from that vampire movie. The third vampire movie. I love that movie. I mean, it's awful, but I love that he's in it, y'know? He cracks jokes in that one too, but his jokes in Deathpond are way, way better, and he cracks them all the time.

And sometimes, in the movie, he talks right into the camera, and it's like, OMG, he looked right at me! I seriously want him to just reach out through the screen, pull me in, and take me on his whole adventure. I mean, I'd look good kicking bad buy behind right next to him, y'know. I bet he'd look over and say, "Hey, Shiki, you really put the bite on that guy!" I mean, he'd probably say something wittier than that, but you know what I mean.

I totally want to see it again. Maybe I'll ask Yaggie, if she's not too shaken up still over, y'know, "that other movie."

Oh, I haven't told you that story yet, Okay, I'll tell you soon, I promise...

Revealing Rapunzel

Okay, so have you seen that online novel "Rapunzel the Shinobi"? Well, yours truly has the inside scoop on who's writing it.

Right, think about it. Who's the main character? She's a shinobi, right? I mean, duh. But she's a shinobi with purple-pinkish hair and an eyepatch. How many of those do you know?

So you know how people who write stories like to put themselves in as the main character? Like how Murky's always writing stories about superheroes in masks, who sometimes end up making out with tall blonde girls...who talk like 80's American valley girls...

Anyway!

I think I know who's writing Rapunzel, and I think you do too. It's Yaggie, right? It's gotta be.

 

So watch and wait, 'cause if the next chapter of "Rapunzel" has her beating up a tall blonde girl who talks like an 80's American valley girl, you'll know we were onto something here. Till next time!

Eye Eye, Captain!

OMG, so you know Hibari? Like, from Hanzō? You know how she's got those crazy eyes, right? Those purple, flowery eyes?

Okay, so you totally want be sitting down for this. They're, like, super-eyes.

I looked it up. Like, in a book, this old book in Grandpa's library. They're called Kagan eyes or something, right? And if she looks into your eyes, she can make you do things.

Like that guy, in that show, you know? She could make you do jumping jacks, or do her homework, or take off your pants and start samba-dancing...no, wait, that's Haruka.

Anyway, I know she's a good shinobi for now, but just imagine if she ever turned to the dark side. Ooh, maybe she already has, and we just don't know it! Maybe we only think she's all sweet and innocent because that's what she's been telling us to think.

Wait, if she can control our thoughts...is she making me type this? Why is she doing that? Hey, Hibari, stop it! Get out of my heeeaaad...

Okay. I'm okay. One shiatsu massage and two lattes later, I'm okay.

But you've gotta watch out. We all do. Like, wear shades when you see her, and think of something thought-blocky, like a nursery rhyme or geometry or something, 'cause when she gets into your head, there's no getting her out. Like that song, the one about that bunny candy she likes, the one she's MAKING ME THINK OF RIGHT NOW...
